It was a bit of a fluke when we began raising and showing dairy goats. My wife Sherry, our
son Josh and daughter Cassie, and our neighbor Carol Murphy went to look at some goats that a
4Her was selling. (My daughter had been after me for 2 years to get a goat and I finally gave
in) They were suppose to come home with one goat. Instead they came home with FOUR Nubians!!
We soon learned that the competition between our son and daughter was going to be a bit
heated through their 4H years. That’s when we expanded into Oberhaslis. Of course Sherry
decided she was fond of Toggenburgs so we had to have a few of those also.
We do show at several local ADGA sanctioned shows, and our County and State Fairs. We are
still active in the Nabor Kids 4H Club, Cassie still helps out with the kidding and chores,
and Josh judges several 4H Dairy Goat shows throughout the year.
We are located in the southern tip of the beautiful Willamette Valley just 15 minutes south
of Eugene Oregon in the small town of Creswell Oregon.
If it were not for breeders such as Shari Reyna, Carol Murphy, Shirley Gardner, Nettie Stein,
Ray and Dene Engeman and Harry Hermanson who were willing to share their knowledge and
experience, we would not be raising goats today. For we have found them and the other breeders
that we see at the shows we attend to be full of fun, encouragement and friendly competition.
